Use suggestions while writing, Proofread when reviewing
Suggestionslocal
Small issues appear as you write
Underlines and the Suggestions list flag grammar, spelling, and style issues without starting a whole-document AI pass.
ProofreadAI action
A deliberate pass over the draft
Run it when the document is ready for deeper review. A long document may require several passes, and Revise confirms the exact action count first.
Review
Keep every correction under your control
- 1
Open Suggestions
On desktop, use the right margin. On a medium screen, use the floating Suggestions control. On mobile, open Suggestions from the header. - 2
Read the explanation
Choose an issue to see its category, the original wording, the proposed change, and alternatives when more than one correction is valid. - 3
Accept or dismiss
Accept replaces only the mapped issue. Dismiss removes it from the current review. Spelling issues can also be added to your local dictionary. - 4
Run Proofread for the final pass
Choose Proofread, review any action-count confirmation, and work through the resulting issues. A no-issues result is a valid completed state.
